The aspiring scientist
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing."
I am an international student who just graduated from a small liberal arts college with a double major in Biology and English. I will pursue a PhD degree in Molecular Pharmacology in the US this fall. I hope to discover basic biological mechanisms and translate these findings into novel therapeutic treatments for human diseases.
I hope that this blog will help me manage my graduate school journey, and ultimately, allow me to overcome the challenges and appreciate the rewards! I hope that by sharing my experiences, other people who are undergoing similar experiences will find some comfort and advice.
I hope you have the patience to follow my, hopefully, 5 year-endeavor into a PhD program. Feel free to comment - I promise I am friendly!!!
Keep calm and PhD on :)
