Baby bok choy with garlic and oyster sauce

Rating: 4/5
Serving: 2-3
Preparation: 30 min

Ingredients:
  • 3 bunches of Shanghai baby bok choy (~12), bottom ends removed
  • 3 tbsp of oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp granulated white sugar
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 10 tsp of water
  • A sprinkle of ground black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp sesame oil
  • 3 tbsp cooking oil
  • Salt to taste (Optional)
Directions:
  1. Combine the oyster sauce, sesame oil, black pepper, and water in a bowl. Stir. Set aside.
  2. Combine oil and garlic at the same time in a pan. Cook the garlic in medium heat until starts to turn light brown.
  3. Pour the oyster sauce mixture in the pan. Stir. Let boil.
  4. Add the bok choy. Stir and cover. Cook until the sauce reduces to half. Some salt may need to be added.
My review:
This was a delicious side dish. It might be worthy to reduce the amount of water added (~ 5 tsp) because the bok choy released a lot of extra water. You might want to keep to the original recipe if you like to drizzle a lot of sauce on your rice.

Happy cooking and eating!
